About the festival
A week-long celebration of books, people and ideas
The Muslim LitFest is an annual celebration of Muslim literature, storytelling and creativity. Partnering with bookshops, cultural centres and community organisations across London to bring literary events, talks and workshops to venues throughout the city. Culminating in our flagship two-day weekend at the London Muslim Centre on the 17–18 October, bringing the whole community together under one roof. Full programme and partner venues coming soon.
At the heart of the festival is a commitment to supporting independent Muslim publishers and self-published authors. We give them a space to present their books, meet readers and introduce their work to a wider audience.
The festival is open to everyone, from regular readers and book lovers to families and visitors interested in discovering new voices and ideas.

Why Muslim LitFest matters
Supporting Muslim books and the people behind them
Independent publishers and self-published authors play an important role in creating books for Muslim readers. However, it can be difficult for them to reach new audiences.
Muslim LitFest brings writers, publishers and readers together, helping good books to be discovered and encouraging a stronger reading culture within the community.
Promote independent publishers
Give publishers a welcoming platform to present and sell their books.
Help authors reach readers
Create opportunities for writers to share their work directly with readers.
Encourage reading
Help children, young people and adults discover books that inspire them.
Create meaningful discussion
Make space for accessible conversations about ideas that matter today.
Everyone is welcome
