Capital, Capitalism, and Avoiding the Economy

The Critical Muslim aims to challenge traditionalist, modernist, fundamentalist and apologetic versions of Islam, and to attempt to set out new readings of religion and culture with the potential for social, cultural and political transformation of the Muslim world. This event will introduce the ‘Capital’ issue. Critical Muslim’s Deputy Editor Robin Yassin-Kassab will read from his fictional extract ‘Capital’ and will discuss his essay on living in the countryside and avoiding the official economy.
